Creative Arts

Music plays an important part of the school life, allowing children to express themselves individually, whilst learning new skills and gaining personal confidence and commitment. Our peripatetic music teacher offers individual tuition in flute, clarinet and piano. Recorder and percussion groups are also popular and develop a sense of achievement whilst realising the importance of working together as a team.

Art is an important element in the school curriculum and is approached in a lively and varied way. Children are introduced to many forms and styles including drawing, painting, collage, and clay modelling. Across the school, pupils study work by artists including: Matisse, Turner, Monet, Kandinsky, Seurat and Cezanne.

Drama encompasses many aspects of the curriculum and provides opportunities for self expression, confidence building and gives an opportunity to demonstrate creative talent. A variety of performances and concerts are held throughout the year and we use local venues to host our end of term concerts.
